Isn’t it interesting when you offer something for FREE people don’t use it however when they are paying for something, they are 10 times more likely to use it.

I have sent out the 48 hour ultimatum. All webmasters who registered here who have not installed the advanced membership software on their websites by Monday at 12 midnight will be permantely BANNED from Zlinkexchange.com

Actually, I will let you come back if you really want the software. I will just cost you $240…

I will rebuild this site from the ground up.

At least for now. I had a change of mind on this one. This site does stuff other link exchange sites just don’t do. Namely it gives you an excellent custom directory which blends into any website design. It also lets you track your links over time, and you can email any webmaster with a click of your mouse should a link every break. It also will test each and every link to insure that the pages will be indexed into Google and other engines by testing for 2 things: robots.txt files and the actual link page itself for a no index.no follow meta tag. Does it get any better than this?

Actually it will very shortly. The next change I’m going to make will allow advanced membership to have all their links checked once a week automatically by the site. It takes a good 30 seconds to check about 25 links. When there are hundreds of links in a directory, it seems better to have the site do the checking automatically so the member can focus their time on getting more links in the directory.

This change is of major importance and it took several hours of programming and testing to get the php scripting right. The site is now adding customized title tags, customized meta tags for both the keywords and description meta tags, and also a comment tag populated with several phrases incorporating the category name.

Each category page in your directory will have the tags appropriately labelled for it’s specific category as opposed to just having a slew of all the same title and meta tags across your directory. Hopefully Google and other engines will pick up on these and awards accordingly in the rankings.

I am cancelling the free membership though it will remain. One will have to pay a site maintenance fee from now on. You can still post links onto any page of your site. It is just $5 month. My goal is to keep people busy exchanging sites. I don’t want people joining the site just to get his/her site in the directory. This is a participation website. People tend to participate when they’re paying for something.

I have added a new tool which is available for getting the Google page rank of a website along with the Alexa ranking data. In case you didn’t know, Google ranks sites from 1-10 in terms of page rank. Their algorhythm to determine this is based on numerous factors, one of which is the number of sites which link to a site. Alexa has their own system of determining their number. This is a traffic indicator which shows over the last 90 days the traffic rankings. The lower the number the better.

Both Google and Alexa have their own tool bars which can be attached to the IE browser, Firefox, or the Chrome browser.

Google’s tool bar can be obtained at http://www.google.com/toolbar/ie/index.html

To get the Alexa bar, simple browse to http://www.alexa.com

and click on the Toolbar link on the upper right of the page.

Zlinkexchange.com will help you to monitor your links over the course of time and insure that all your links continue to exist. Additionally, it will also insure that webmasters do not block their webpages containing the link to your website from being blocked from indexing in the search engines.

Crafy webmasters will do a link exchange with with the intention of using a noindex, nofollow tag on the page that contains links. Search engine robots which traverse the web spidering web pages will ignore this page. This means that their link to you is WORTHLESS and you are giving them a free one way link. How nice for them and how bad for you. This blocking of page from being indexed can also be done by using a robots.txt file which includes the subdirectory which stores the pages containing the linking code. These 2 tactics are employed all the time by webmasters to enhance their rankings.

Zlinkexchange.com does not tolerate this activity at all. We can and do stop this. If we find this, you can fire off an email to the webmaster informing them that if they don’t change this and allow search engines to index the link pages that their link will be removed from your website.

Just think how many hours of time we save you! We have politely formatted emails informing webmasters to repair a broken link. Just sending out one of these emails would take you up to 5 minutes to prepare! Here at Zlinkexchange.com it is done with 2 clicks of the mouse! And you can select multiple links at the same time ! We display up to 50 links on a page.

Check out the movie here to see this live:

Traffic comes from many places to your website. Did you know that search engines deliver over 70% of all web traffic? Google takes the lions share at around 50% and then comes Yahoo and MSN. To rank high at the engines, and there are hundreds of them, it’s important to have a link campaign as well as use white hat SEO techniques on your website. There are many theories on how to optimize ones pages for the engines, though most will agree that having your keyword phrases in the anchor texts to your site is the most beneficial way. The anchor texts should for the most part include your keyword phrase. You can also mix in some of your minor keyword phrases as well. To make a siginificant impact on your rankings at the engines, you need to get lots of these. Normally this will take some time to build up, however, it’s more important than ever to have a mechanism at your site to faciliate the process of getting links.
